The Whistlebinkies

“The group evolved into its current form during the 1970s. By 1991 it had become the first Scottish ensemble to tour China, and in January 1995 had received the accolade of being BBC Radio 3 Artists of the Week. As well as excelling in traditional music, individual members are highly experienced in their own musical fields – Peter Anderson as leading solo and pipe band drummer, Stuart Eydmann as winner of a Glenfiddich Award, and Rab Wallace as soloist and editor at Piping Press. Anna Louise Wallace studies at the RCS and Karen Marshalsay teaches and publishes her own music. Eddie McGuire is one of Scotland’s most eminent composers, winning a Creative Scotland Award for his Celtic Connections project to create a ballet for the group and Chinese Harmony Ensemble.”
